Coupons.com edits executive team

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Coupons.com — a leading online printable, pure digital and mobile promotions coupons provider — has made some changes to its executive team.

The company has appointed Matthew J. Wisk as its CMO and Stephen F. Simpson as its VP of production operations.

“We are very excited to have Matt and Steve join the Coupons.com executive team,” said Steven Boal, Coupons.com CEO. “Their highly relevant experience and deep expertise in consumer marketing and site engineering will be instrumental in the continued growth of our company, while ensuring infrastructural excellence to support every aspect of our expanding consumer- and client-facing operations.”

Wisk has nearly 30 years of management and marketing experience, with more than 15 years at the executive level. As CMO, he will oversee Coupons.com’s consumer marketing functions, including online and broadcast advertising, sponsorships, social media, affiliate, SEO, SEM, email and publisher partnerships. He joins the company from United Online, where he was most recently president of MyPoints.com, a leading marketing and rewards site purchased from United Airlines. Prior to that, Wisk was EVP and CMO for several of United Online’s consumer brands, including Classmates.com, NetZero and Juno. Before that, he held CMO positions at TiVo and Herbalife International. Prior to joining Herbalife, Wisk was at Nokia, where he held positions, including VP of global marketing as well as VP of marketing for North and South America. He has also held various marketing positions at Metrocel Cellular Telephone (now AT&T Wireless), NEC America and GTE.

Simpson has more than 30 years of engineering experience. As VP of production operations, he will be responsible for the company’s site reliability engineering function, including global data centers, disaster recovery, enterprise systems SOX and PCI compliance, security, platform hardware infrastructure life cycle and capacity planning. Simpson joins Coupons.com from Groupon, Inc., where he was the lead SRE architect for global platform engineering. Prior to that, he held senior SRE positions at ACS Inc. and EA and also offered private consulting services in the area of green computing and data centers. Before that, Simpson was a senior director of search engineering at Yahoo, where he was responsible for end-to-end production environment, which produced almost two-thirds of the company’s total revenue. When he joined Yahoo, he brought more than 20 years of direct relevant experience building and running massively high scale infrastructure and held a variety of positions at companies, including Inktomi Corporation, First Consulting Group, SEI Investments and ICI Americas.
