Vizio launches Father’s Day contest

IRVINE, Calif. — Vizio, a supplier of consumer electronics, is launching a Father’s Day contest called "Give Dad Your Best," sponsored in part by Best Buy, M-Go and DreamWorks Animation, in which participants are encouraged to upload to its site a video or photograph celebrating their fathers accompanied by a personal story of appreciation.

The consumer electronics company is also drawing traffic to its site by encouraging the public to visit the contest’s landing page to vote for its favorite dad story, between now and June 5, and help determine the winner. As incentive to get people to vote, Vizio is offering the person who nominates the grand prize-winning dad a Vizio 42" Razor LED Smart TV and $100 M-Go streaming movie credit. Those who nominate the first prize winners will each receive a $50 Best Buy gift card. 

"Sons and daughters nationwide are looking to raise the bar on the ultimate gift for dad," said Lily Knowles, VP of product marketing, Vizio. "We're excited to offer a Father's Day prize package that is sure to be the envy of dads everywhere by teaming up with Best Buy, M-GO and DreamWorks Animation. It will be fun to have our Vizio fans weighing in with votes to determine which dad deserves to be treated with the ultimate home theater package."

The grand prize winner will receive a Vizio E-Series 70" Razor LED Smart TV, a Vizio 42" 5.1 E-Series Sound Bar, a $250 M-Go streaming movie credit and four tickets to the premiere of "Turbo," DreamWorks Animation's new summer film. Vizio will also award a $200 Best Buy gift card to each of 15 first prize winners.

Both Vizio and Best Buy will leverage social media to promote the contest. Both companies are encouraging submitters to share their entries on their own social networks using the hash tag #GiveDadYourBest.
